About me

Hi! My name is Ram Goenka and I am a (incoming) first year masters student at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Statistics.

Prior to joining Pitt, I was an undergraduate student in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Illinois (UIUC). I worked as a research assistant at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications on computational problems relating to the mathematical and statistical modeling of vector-borne diseases, specifically the West Nile Virus (WNV), mentored by Professor Rebecca Lee Smith.

My research interests lie at the intersection of statistics, probability and theoretical ECE. I am primarily interested in statistical learning and random processes as well as their intersections with inference problems in signal processing, detection and communication theory.

My CV can be found here (Last Updated: May 29, 2025).
